Crown Estate interest in 'Ilfracombe marina'

It was just before Christmas reported in the North Devon Journal that the Crown Estates are “poised to step in” and develop a state of the art marina in Ilfracombe. Talks of a marina have circulated for several years, but now such a substantial organisation has backed it, in readiness to further the development.

The marina would aid Ilfracombe’s already regenerating identity. The Journal quotes “And the most vital aspect, as far as partner organisations are concerned — the northern breakwater — a crucial piece of infrastructure which will allow a car ferry service and visiting cruise ships to dock, as well as boarding points for the Waverley and Oldenburg passenger ships”.

With Ilfracombe featuring in several National Newspapers in the past couple of months it does seem that more and more opportunities in the town are being noticed.

Several articles have now featured in the Journal regarding the marina as interest continues to mount.
